Marketing, especially the marketing of professional service firms has gone mad. When there is so much noise and distraction in the world today from advertising, social media, billboards, etc., why would you want to be just another part of that amorphous mess? Websites, brochures, blogs and alike are full to the brim with …. well with nothing much at all, actually. Because none of it really means anything.
Here’s a true example:
“The firm will remain competitive in the constantly changing market for defense legal services by creating and implementing innovative and effective methods of providing cost-effective, quality representation and services for our clients.”
What does that mean?
Rather than annoying your prospective clients and customers with dribble, do nothing. It will do you less harm to do nothing than to replicate this sort of nonsense. Better still, stand out from the noise, and write something remarkable or important to those people who have a need for your products or services.
